Every year, L’Etape du Tour de France invites the public to ride one of the mountain stages of the Tour de France: the same stage towns, the same route, the same mythical climbs but also, and above all, the same race conditions as on the Tour.
As the result of a significant amount of work carried out in partnership with the police, local organisations and local authorities, L’Étape du Tour de France is the only cycling event to offer routes which are entirely closed to traffic.
L'Etape du Tour de France was established in 1993 and since then, it has been riden in truly legend climbs and spots, such as Mont Ventoux, Alpe D’huez or Col du Tourmalet.
